The story

Whole flowers, not dusty fragments

Most chamomile teas use finely chopped flowers that turn to dust at the bottom of the cup. This one is different. Whole organic blossoms, soft and pale, open up as they steep and release their fragrance slowly. The result is a cleaner, fuller brew with none of that papery edge.

The cup itself is a clear golden colour, closer to pale honey than straw. The aroma drifts up gently: warm hay, dried apple, a faint sweetness. Take a sip and you get soft florals first, then a delicate honeyed note that lingers without cloying.

Chamomile suits the quieter hours. It asks nothing of you except a few minutes and a warm mug. No caffeine, no fuss, no milk required. Just golden in the pot, lovely with a spoon of honey if you fancy it, and very easy to drink while the evening winds down.

Good questions

Things people ask us in the shop

What does chamomile tea taste like?

It is softly floral with gentle honeyed sweetness and a light apple-like note. No bitterness, no astringency. Very easy to drink on its own or with a little honey.

Does chamomile contain caffeine?

No. Pure chamomile is naturally caffeine-free, so you can drink it any time without worrying about staying awake.

Should I add milk?

No milk needed. Chamomile is delicate and golden on its own. Honey or a slice of apple works nicely if you want to add something.

How many cups will I get from a pouch?

At about 1.5g per cup, the 50g pouch makes around 33 cups. The 250g pouch gives you roughly 165 cups.

How should I store it?

Keep it sealed in a cool, dry place away from heat, sunlight and strong aromas. A kitchen cupboard away from the hob is ideal.

    Bedtime - anytime view.

I bought a 100g this autumn, and have just bought 250g as all the family have been raiding my caddy.

A rich natural brew with a tsp of honey for bedtime, superior and non- pariable to leading brand tea bags.
