ALREADY KNOW YOUR WAY?

Straight to your kind of tea.

The familiar favourites, a lower-caffeine cup, or the whole collection.

A GOOD FIRST CUP

Three easy places to begin.

A familiar breakfast blend, a bright herbal infusion or fragrant Earl Grey. Pick the one that sounds like you, then choose your pouch size.

The familiar one

Malty · full-bodied · brisk

English Breakfast

If your usual tea takes a splash of milk, start here. A dependable black tea with a malty character and a brisk finish.

Naturally caffeine-free

Ginger · turmeric · fruit

Glow

Choose this if you enjoy warming ginger and a fruity finish. A bright herbal infusion with turmeric, pineapple and colourful botanicals.

For Earl Grey lovers

Bergamot · malty · fragrant

Earl of Colne Valley

A full-bodied Earl Grey with a Yorkshire name. Rich black tea meets fragrant bergamot for a bright citrus finish.

YOUR FIRST BREW

A mug. An infuser. You’re ready.

You can make loose leaf tea in the mug you already use. Choose a basket infuser that fits your mug: it holds the leaves while they brew, then lifts out when your tea is ready.

Read the brewing guide
  1. Measure your tea

Use the leaf quantity on the pouch or product page. Different leaves and infusions need different amounts.

  2. Add water and set a timer

Follow your tea’s temperature and brewing time. Cooler water suits many green teas; other teas need freshly boiled water.

  3. Lift out the leaves

Remove the infuser when the time is up. Enjoy your tea as it is, or add milk if that suits the blend.

START WITH WHAT YOU NEED

One useful infuser goes a long way.

A basket infuser is enough to begin. Add a scoop for everyday measuring, or a teapot when you want to make more than one cup.

Your first essential

For everyday mug brewing

Stainless Steel Basket Infuser with Lid

A roomy basket holds your loose leaves. Lift it out when the tea is ready and use the lid to catch the drips.

A handy extra

For your daily scoop

Super Scooper

A stainless-steel scoop to keep beside your tea. Follow your tea’s brewing notes for the right amount of leaf.

Make tea for two

For a shared pot

FORLIFE Stump Teapot - 530ml (2 cup)

A compact 530ml teapot with a removable infuser, ideal for two smaller cups. Choose a colour, add your leaves and settle in for a shared brew.

GOOD QUESTIONS

Your first pouch, explained.

A few practical answers before you choose. If you’d like a hand, our Huddersfield team can help.

Which loose leaf tea should I try first?

Start with a taste you already enjoy. Choose English Breakfast for a full-bodied black tea, Glow for warming ginger and a fruity finish, or Earl of Colne Valley for fragrant bergamot. The three teas above are a useful first shortlist.

Do I need a teapot to make loose leaf tea?

No. A mug and a basket infuser are enough. Give the leaves room to open, follow the quantity, temperature and time on the pouch or product page, then lift out the infuser. A teapot is useful when you want to brew more than one cup.

Is fruity or herbal tea always caffeine-free?

No: choose by the individual tea, not its flavour name. Many fruit, herbal and rooibos infusions are naturally caffeine-free, while blends containing black or green tea, or ingredients such as yerba maté, contain caffeine. Decaffeinated tea still contains small amounts. Check each product’s ingredients and caffeine information.

What size pouch should I start with?

Choose a smaller pouch when trying a new flavour. Each product page shows the available weights and their prices, so you can try a tea before choosing a bigger refill.

Can someone help me choose?

Yes. Our Tea Finder can narrow the range by your preferences. For a personal recommendation, ask our Huddersfield tea shop and tell us the flavours you like and how you take your tea.
