English Breakfast is a proper, full-bodied loose leaf black tea blend — bold, malty and reassuringly smooth, with a clean finish that keeps it endlessly drinkable.

Blended from premium leaves grown in the Nandi Highlands of Kenya, the Nilgiri and Assam regions of India, and Yunnan Province in China, it’s carefully balanced for depth without heaviness: brisk enough to wake you up, rounded enough to feel velvety, and rich enough to taste like a “real” brew every time.

Expect robust aroma, malty backbone and a satisfying finish that holds up beautifully with milk, but stays smooth and composed if you take it black.

A true classic and a daily staple for anyone upgrading from tea bags to loose leaf done properly.

English Breakfast Tea FAQs

What is English Breakfast tea?

English Breakfast tea is a traditional black tea blend known for its bold, full-bodied flavour. It’s designed to be a satisfying everyday tea and is often enjoyed in the morning.

Is loose leaf English Breakfast tea better than teabags?

Loose leaf tea is often more flavourful and aromatic because it contains larger, better-quality leaves rather than fine tea dust. It also gives you more control over strength and brewing time.

Can I drink English Breakfast tea with milk?

Yes — English Breakfast tea is one of the best teas for milk. Its bold, malty character holds up well and still tastes balanced.

How much loose leaf English Breakfast tea should I use per cup?

A good starting point is 1 teaspoon (around 2–3g) per cup. Use a little more if you prefer a stronger brew.

How long should I brew English Breakfast tea?

For most cups, 2–3 minutes works well. Brew for 4–5 minutes for a stronger cup, especially if adding milk.

Does English Breakfast tea contain caffeine?

Yes. English Breakfast is a black tea, so it naturally contains caffeine. The exact amount varies depending on leaf, quantity used, and brew time.

How many cups does 100g of loose leaf English Breakfast tea make?

Typically around 35–50 cups, depending on how much leaf you use and how strong you brew it.

What does English Breakfast tea taste like?

English Breakfast tea is usually bold, malty, smooth and brisk, with a satisfying finish. It’s classic, comforting, and easy to drink daily.
