Beyond the teapot
The Pantry: coffee, hot chocolate and honey alongside your tea
Not everything has to be tea. Sometimes the morning calls for a proper coffee, or the evening wants something richer and sweeter. The Pantry is where we keep the things that sit naturally alongside a good cup of loose leaf — quality coffee beans from roasters we trust, thick hot chocolate made for cold nights, and local honey that works just as well drizzled on toast as stirred into a brew.
You'll find coffee here from Dark Woods, Bean Brothers, Danelaw and Nott Coffee. There's the smooth, milky character of Danelaw Mjólka Coffee Beans 250g, the bold depth of Dark Woods Black Hill Coffee 250g, and lighter options like Dark Woods Good Morning Sunshine Coffee 250g for those who prefer a brighter start. For decaf drinkers, Nott Coffee Eclipse Decaf Coffee Beans 250g and Nott Coffee Aurora Decaf Coffee Beans 250g offer proper flavour without the caffeine.
Then there's Harth hot chocolate — the Original for purists, Ginger for a warming edge, and Smoky Chilli for something with real kick. And Holme Valley Summer Blossom Honey 340g brings a taste of the local hedgerows. These are small-batch products from makers who care.
How to choose
Pick by drink type
Coffee drinkers have plenty here, from espresso blends to single origins. Hot chocolate lovers get three distinct Harth flavours. The honey suits both tea and table.
Consider caffeine
Most coffees are fully caffeinated, but Nott Coffee's Aurora and Eclipse are both decaf. The hot chocolates contain a small amount of natural caffeine from cocoa.
Think about strength
Bean Brothers Derek's Darkside and Dark Woods Black Hill deliver bold, robust cups. Danelaw Fjødr and Good Morning Sunshine lean lighter and brighter for gentler mornings.

Good questions
Things people ask us in the shop
Is the coffee in The Pantry ground or whole bean?
Our coffee comes as whole beans in 250g bags, so you will need a grinder at home. Grinding just before brewing keeps the flavour at its best.
Where is the coffee roasted?
Our coffee comes from independent roasters including Dark Woods, Danelaw, Bean Brothers and Nott Coffee. Each product page has the details for that bag, including roaster and tasting notes.
What does the Harth hot chocolate taste like?
Harth makes thick, rich drinking chocolate rather than the thin powdered kind. The Original is smooth and intensely chocolatey. Ginger adds warmth, while Smoky Chilli brings gentle heat.
Is the honey local?
Yes, Holme Valley Summer Blossom Honey is from the Holme Valley, just down the road from our Huddersfield shop. It has a gentle floral sweetness that works on toast or in a cup of tea.
Can I use the honey in tea?
Absolutely. A spoonful works beautifully in black tea, herbal infusions or even a mug of hot lemon water. It dissolves quickly and adds a gentle floral sweetness.
