Derek is Bean Brothers’ flagship espresso blend and, like the name suggests, it’s refreshingly free from coffee-world nonsense.
Built from coffees grown in Ethiopia, Brazil, and El Salvador, Derek strikes that difficult balance between being interesting enough for speciality coffee drinkers and approachable enough for everyone else. The result is a beautifully rounded espresso with notes of cocoa, almond biscotti, and apricot.
There’s plenty of sweetness, a gentle fruit character, and enough body to stand up well in milk without losing what makes the coffee special. Brew it as espresso and you’ll find layers of chocolate, nuts, and soft stone fruit. Add milk and it becomes rich, smooth, and remarkably easy to drink.
It’s easy to see why Derek has become one of Bean Brothers’ most popular coffees and why it earned a Great Taste Award.
