Soft, scented, lovely

Floral teas with delicate aroma and gentle flavour

Floral teas sit at the softer end of the spectrum. These are leaves scented with real flowers or blended with dried petals, giving you cups that smell as good as they taste. Expect gentle, aromatic brews with light bodies and clean finishes. Some carry jasmine's heady sweetness, others the subtle perfume of rose or lavender. They suit quieter moments and pair beautifully with lighter foods.

This collection brings together greens, oolongs, blacks and herbal infusions, all sharing that distinctive floral character. Jasmine Dragon Pearls unfurl slowly to release waves of scent. Keemun Rose offers something richer, a malty black tea softened by flowers. Orange Jasmine Oolong adds citrus brightness, while Rooibos De Provence brings lavender and herbs without any caffeine at all.

If you find plain green tea too grassy or black tea too robust, floral blends make an excellent middle ground. They reward lighter brewing and cooler water, opening up gradually across multiple infusions. Ideal for afternoon drinking, for guests who appreciate something a bit different, or simply when you want the house to smell wonderful.

How to choose

01

Consider the base tea

Green-based florals like Jasmine Green are lighter and more delicate. Black-based options such as Pearl Grey or Keemun Rose carry more body. Herbal choices like Rooibos De Provence are naturally caffeine-free.

02

Match scent to mood

Jasmine offers a pronounced floral aroma. Rose, lavender and fruit blends bring different fragrant notes; compare the tasting descriptions and ingredients to choose.

03

Think about milk

Most floral teas are best without milk to let the aromatics shine. Pearl Grey and Keemun Rose can take a splash if you prefer, but start without and see.

Good questions

Things people ask us in the shop

What makes a tea floral?

Floral character comes from scenting leaves with real flowers like jasmine or rose, or blending in dried petals. The flowers transfer their essential oils to the tea during processing, creating that distinctive perfume in the cup.

Are floral teas strong?

Generally no. Most floral teas have lighter bodies and softer flavours than malty breakfast blends. They suit shorter steeping times and slightly cooler water, which keeps bitterness at bay and lets the aromatics come through.

Can you cold brew floral tea?

Yes, and many floral teas work brilliantly cold brewed. Jasmine Green and Jasmine Dragon Pearls both make excellent iced tea. Steep in cold water for six to eight hours in the fridge, then strain and serve over ice.

Do floral teas contain caffeine?

Green, oolong and black tea contain caffeine. Some herbal and rooibos options are caffeine-free. Check the individual product’s caffeine information and ingredients; flavour and aroma do not determine caffeine content.

How should I brew jasmine tea?

Use water around 80°C, not boiling. Steep for two to three minutes initially. Jasmine Dragon Pearls can be infused multiple times, with the second and third steeps often tasting best as the leaves fully open.

LIGHT & FLORAL, EXPLAINED

Good questions, beautifully answered.

What does floral tea taste like?

Floral tea is aromatic rather than sugary. Depending on the blend, expect jasmine, rose or lavender notes with a clean, soft finish.

Which floral tea is best for a beginner?

Jasmine Green is the most approachable starting point: fragrant, smooth and easy to enjoy hot or chilled.

Do floral teas contain caffeine?

Green, black and oolong floral teas naturally contain caffeine. Rooibos de Provence and fruit infusions are naturally caffeine-free.

Should I add milk?

Most light and floral teas are best without milk so their aroma stays clear. Rooibos blends can take a small splash if you prefer.

How do I avoid bitterness?

Use cooler water for green tea and follow the time on the product page. If you want more flavour, add more leaf rather than steeping much longer.
