The story
Three teas, one sturdy cup
The name nods to Huddersfield's textile heritage, and the blend follows the same principle: weave a few good threads together and you get something stronger than any single strand. Porter Hill's recipe brings English Breakfast for body, Formosa Oolong for a toasted, slightly floral note, and Russian Caravan for that measured smoky edge.
In the cup you get malt at the front, almost like good toast with butter, then a roasted, nutty character through the middle. The smoke arrives last, quiet rather than campfire, and leaves a dry finish that invites another sip. A splash of milk rounds the maltiness without drowning the toast.
It suits a mid-morning break when you want more character than a standard breakfast tea but less smoke than a full Lapsang. Think of it as the middle ground: familiar enough to drink every day, interesting enough to notice.
