The story

The name comes from that soft grey light you get on a Yorkshire morning when the moors are half-hidden and everything feels a bit gentler. This is an Earl Grey made for those moments: still proper tea, still bergamot, but with the sharper edges rounded off.

We start with Santosa Indonesian black tea for its chocolatey depth and smooth body, then layer in natural bergamot, ground vanilla for a creamy sweetness, and just enough lavender to add a floral note without turning it into potpourri. The result is citrus brightness backed by malt, with a soft aromatic finish.

It brews beautifully strong without getting harsh. Drink it black and the vanilla comes through clearly. Add a splash of milk and it turns into something almost dessert-like. Either way, it is a cup worth slowing down for.
