How to brew for absolute clarity

These leaves repay care. Use fresh, filtered water and weigh your tea if you can.

  • Gongfu (teapot or gaiwan): 1:15–1:20 ratio, 85–95 °C depending on style, short infusions with multiple re-steeps to reveal layers.
  • Western method: 2–3 g per 250 ml, 80–95 °C, 2–3 minutes to start.
  • Green/white/high-mountain oolong: lean cooler (80–90 °C) for sweetness;

Tip: Warm your vessel, pour decisively, and adjust time in 10–15s nudges. If in doubt, each tea has a specific recommendation on it’s page or check our brew guide here.
