Mullein Tea is a naturally caffeine-free herbal infusion made simply from the dried leaves of the mullein plant.
Mullein has a long history of use in European and North American herbal traditions, particularly during the colder months. These days, it makes a lovely alternative for anyone looking for something uncomplicated, caffeine-free and distinctly herbal.
The flavour is surprisingly gentle. Expect a soft, earthy cup with a mild natural sweetness and subtle grassy notes. There’s none of the bitterness you get from some traditional herbs, making mullein particularly easy to drink on its own.
No elaborate blend here. Just mullein leaves, hot water and five quiet minutes. Sometimes that’s quite enough.

FAQs
What does mullein tea taste like?
It’s mild and pleasantly earthy, with gentle grassy notes and a slight natural sweetness. If you normally find herbal teas too bitter, mullein is considerably softer than many.
Does mullein tea contain caffeine?
No. Mullein is naturally caffeine-free, so you can enjoy it at any time of day.
Can I drink it with milk?
You can, but we’d recommend trying it without first. A little honey works particularly well if you’d prefer some extra sweetness.
Why do I need to strain mullein carefully?
Mullein leaves are covered with tiny natural hairs which can be irritating if they end up in your cup. A fine infuser, tea filter or carefully strained brew takes care of them.
How should I store it?
Keep your mullein sealed somewhere cool and dry, away from direct sunlight, heat and strong aromas.
