Swiss-style drinking chocolate
Thick, rich hot chocolate with a gentle ginger kick. Made for cold hands and dark evenings when you need something more comforting than ordinary cocoa.
The story
Sometimes you want hot chocolate that actually feels like something. Harth make theirs in small batches on the edge of Bath using unalkalised natural cocoa powder, which keeps more of that deep, rounded chocolate flavour that gets stripped out of the alkali-treated stuff. The result is noticeably thicker and richer than the instant packets.
The ginger here is subtle but present. Not fiery, not overpowering, just enough warmth to lift the chocolate and make you feel like you have come in from the cold even if you have only walked from the sofa to the kettle. It sits somewhere between a pudding and a drink.
Harth package everything plastic-free and chlorine-free, so the whole bag can go straight in the recycling. A small thing, but it matters when you are getting through a bag a month through the darker half of the year.

Good questions
Yes. The recipe uses cocoa powder, sugar, cornflour, ginger and salt. No milk or animal products. Do note it may contain traces of milk due to the production environment.
About fifteen, depending on how thick you like it. Two heaped tablespoons per mug is a good starting point, but you can go richer.
It is noticeable but not overpowering. The ginger adds warmth rather than heat, lifting the chocolate without dominating it.
You can, but milk or a good plant milk gives the thick, rich texture this style is known for. Oat milk works particularly well.
Keep it in a cool, dry place under 24Β°C, away from direct sunlight. It will stay fresh for at least twelve months from manufacture.
