The story
From the low country, with body
Lumbini sits in the Ruhuna region of southern Sri Lanka, where the low altitude and warm climate produce larger, more succulent leaves. The result is a tea with real depth, full-bodied in a way that highland Ceylons rarely manage, with a character that lingers rather than disappears the moment you swallow.
Orange Pekoe is a grade, not a flavour. It means whole leaves, carefully picked and processed in the orthodox style. What you get in the cup is bright and coppery, with pine-like top notes over a base that has proper heft. There is briskness here, but it is balanced, never harsh, never thin.
This is a Ceylon for people who find some single-origins a bit polite. It holds up brewed strong, takes milk without complaint, and rewards you with a clean finish that makes you reach for the pot again. A proper afternoon tea, or a morning one if you like your mornings serious.
