The story
Gunpowder and mint, the Moroccan way
Moroccan mint tea pairs Chinese gunpowder green with generous handfuls of spearmint. The tight-rolled pellets brew into something bright and sturdy enough to stand up to all that mint, and the combination has been poured in teahouses and homes across Morocco for generations.
Our version uses the same Organic Osprey Gunpowder we sell on its own. As the pellets steep, they slowly unfurl, releasing a lightly toasty green base with a crisp finish. The spearmint sits right on top: cool, clean and fresh, with a long minty finish that lingers.
Drink it the traditional way, hot and sweetened with a little sugar, or brew it stronger and pour it over ice when the weather turns. Either way, it is the sort of cup that clears your head without any fuss.

Does Mint Bazaar contain caffeine?
Yes, from the gunpowder green tea base. It is a low-caffeine blend, lighter than black tea or coffee, but not caffeine-free.
Can I drink it with milk?
We would not. The mint stays cleaner and brighter without milk. A little sugar or honey is the traditional way to sweeten it.
How many cups will I get from a pouch?
The 50g pouch makes around 20 cups, and the 100g around 40. Larger sizes keep you going for a few weeks of regular brewing.
Is this the same as peppermint tea?
No, this is spearmint blended with green tea, so it has a lighter, sweeter mint character and contains caffeine. If you want mint with no caffeine at all, look at our Peppermint.
How should I store it?
Keep the pouch sealed, somewhere cool and dry, away from sunlight and strong smells. It will stay fresh for months stored properly.

Mint tea the way it is poured in Marrakech: Chinese gunpowder green tea and plenty of spearmint. Moroccan mint tea has been made with Chinese gunpowder since the 1800s, and ours now uses our own Organic Osprey Gunpowder from China, the same tea we sell on its own.
The tightly rolled leaves open into a bright, lightly toasty green tea, and the spearmint sits right on top of it: cool, clean and fresh, with a long minty finish.
Drink it hot after a big meal, sweeten it the Moroccan way with a little sugar, or brew it strong and pour it over ice on a warm afternoon. It does contain caffeine, so if you want mint without it, go for our Peppermint instead.
