Decaf chai with warming spice
Ginger, cinnamon and cardamom give this decaf black tea its warming spice. Made for evenings, milk lovers and anyone who wants chai without lying awake at three in the morning.
The story
Most decaf chai blends taste like cardboard with a pinch of cinnamon. This one starts with a decaffeinated black tea base from India and Kenya that still has body and colour, so the spices have something to work with. The ginger comes through first, then the warming cinnamon, and cardamom rounds out the middle.
Black and white pepper add a gentle heat at the finish without shouting about it. Clove and nutmeg sit quietly underneath, giving the cup depth rather than dominating. It is spiced, but balanced: you can taste the tea as well as the spice rack.
Brew it strong with less water, strain, then top up with warmed milk for a proper chai latte that will not keep you awake. Or drink it black in the afternoon when you want the flavour without the full caffeine hit. Either way, it tastes like chai should.
How to brew it
01Hot, black
A lighter cup that lets the tea base show through.
02With milk
Brew strong, strain, top up with warmed milk. Taste before sweetening.
03Iced chai latte
Brew double strength, strain over ice, add cold milk to fill.
Shop tip: Let the spices steep a little longer than you would a plain black tea. Three minutes brings out the cardamom and pepper without bitterness.
Made for moments like
A warming mug while the dishwasher hums. All the comfort of chai without the caffeine keeping you up past bedtime.

Good questions
No. Decaffeinated means most of the caffeine has been removed, but a trace remains. If you need zero caffeine, look for a caffeine-free herbal or rooibos blend instead.
At roughly 2.5g per cup: 50g makes about 20 cups, 100g around 40, 250g around 100, 500g around 200, and 1kg around 400 cups.
It is blended with milk in mind, but you can drink it black if you prefer. Black, you will taste more of the pepper and tea; with milk, the spices soften and meld together.
Taste it first. The spices bring their own warmth and the ginger has a natural bite, so you may find you need less sweetener than you expect.
Keep it sealed, cool and dry, away from heat, sunlight and strong aromas. A cupboard away from the hob is ideal.
Decaf Masala Chai is a decaffeinated loose-leaf black tea with lively ginger, warming cinnamon and cardamom, and a gentle peppery finish.
Indian and Kenyan decaffeinated black teas give the blend body beneath the spices. It is made for customers who want a lower-caffeine chai that still tastes like black tea, whether brewed plain or softened with milk.

Does it contain caffeine? Yes. This tea is decaffeinated, not caffeine-free. Some caffeine remains, and we do not have a measured amount for the finished cup.
How should I store it? Keep it sealed, cool and dry, away from heat, sunlight and strong aromas.
